Description:

Since its deployment in the 1980s, the NAVSTAR Global Positioning System (GPS) has evolved to become the primary source of positioning, navigation and timing (PNT) for the Armed Forces or the US and its allies and for the critical infrastructure of the US. At the time of deployment, the threat to the integrity of GPS due to adversarial actions was limited to cost-prohibitive methods by near-peer nations. However, the evolution of faster, cheaper and smaller processors has significantly closed the adversarial gap and widened the PNT attack surface. The purpose of this project is to develop a Low Earth Orbit (LEO) Satellite Doppler Positioning System aboard an aircraft in flight.
